Before and after Picture of This Bathroom Floor after a Grout Sealing Job in Cumming, GA
Embedded dirt and soap had been accumulating on the floor's tiles and grout lines over the last year. The clients often managed to recover the color of the tiles but no matter how hard they tried; they couldn't wash away the brown hue from the grout lines. They asked us why this had happened, explaining they cleaned the floor regularly and never let spills set. We explained that even though there were many factors that could've had a negative impact on the floor, the damage was likely the result of using bad cleaning products.

Most store-bought products are either soap-based or acidic. On one hand, soapy cleaners tend to leave a sticky residue behind that allows dirt and dust to set in. On the other hand, acidic cleaners can damage tile and eat away at the grout lines. To avoid damaging the floor, the clients should use a pH-neutral cleaner like Sir Grout's Natural Hard Surface Cleaner. Not only is this cleaner safe for tile and grout, it also contains properties that helps to protect any surface from harmful microorganisms.

The homeowners also admitted to occasionally using a dirty mop to clean the floor as well as letting it air dry. These factors helped maximize the accumulation of dirt to the point where it was difficult to remove it with common household items and products.

To fix the problem, we offered the client a two-step procedure. First, we would thoroughly clean the floor to remove any trace of dirt. Second, we would seal the grout lines using ColorSeal, our proprietary sealant. The customers agreed to the service and scheduled an appointment for the next day.

On the day of the job, we began by soaking the floor with our flagship cleaner. After letting it sit for a few minutes, we used a high-speed scrubber to clean the dull terracotta tiles and the grout lines. When we finished cleaning, we carefully inspected the floor's grout to ensure it was in good shape. Since none of the fixtures were chipped or cracked, we began the sealing procedure.

We applied ColorSeal to the floor's grout. On top of giving the grout lines a brand-new appearance, this thick acrylic sealant won't crack or peel. ColorSeal contains hardeners that strengthen the grout, making it resistant to stains, water, mold, mildew, and other external agents. It also comes in any desired color. The customers chose light gray so their beautiful white tiles would stand out.

After we finished, we showed the clients the results. They were ecstatic to see their bathroom floor completely revamped. We also explained that if they followed our recommendations from now on, cleaning would be a breeze.

We reminded them that they should stick to soap-less, pH-neutral cleaners to avoid damaging the floor. To clean the floor, they should let the cleaner soak on the surface for three to five minutes, so the embedded dirt comes loose. We also advised them to never let the floor air dry. We also recommend always using a dry cloth to remove the dirty cleaner residue from the surface to avoid leaving dirt on the tiles and grout lines. The homeowners thanked us for the tips and assured us they would call back for maintenance.
